Tuxford Town Council Pays Tribute to Former Councillor Eric Bett
It is with great sadness that Tuxford Town Council has learned of the passing of former Town Councillor Mr Eric Bett, who sadly passed away on Saturday 25 July 2026.

Eric served the residents of Tuxford as a dedicated Town Councillor for over 40 years, giving an extraordinary amount of his time and commitment to the community. Throughout his years of service, he played an important role in the life of the Town Council and was involved in many decisions and projects that have helped shape Tuxford.
A familiar and well-respected figure around the town, Eric was known by many residents and will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to public service and his passion for the local community. After more than four decades of service, Eric retired from the Council in 2024, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of commitment and civic duty.
On behalf of all Councillors and staff, Tuxford Town Council extends its heartfelt condolences to Eric’s wife, Kathryn, and to all of his family and friends at this very sad time.
Eric’s contribution to Tuxford will not be forgotten, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
